To the decision-makers at MWTM and Chris Lord-Alge:

I’m Arlen L. Card, veteran secondary-market music producer, composer, and session musician. I seek out this opportunity to bring my work and abilities to an even higher level, especially with an eye towards teaching my university students that higher level of skills as well — a legacy CLA can give hundreds of young people through me as I return to teach this Fall.

My goal is to make Chris Lord-Alge and MWTM top-of-mind for my students as I share what I’ve learned with Chris at Studios la Fabrique, making them acolytes of your offerings (as I already am).

Here are three diverse pieces I’ve produced (out of hundreds) in the past to show competence and stylistic breadth:

Muscle Beach (retro :30)
Bring a Torch (orchestral)
Is She Thinking of Me (PSA – Foundation for a Better Life)

Further Demo material available on this site on the “Demos” tab. (All arranging and original composition, as well as saxophones and recorders, by Arlen L. Card.)

My pitch: “I’ve had a good music career so far, but I would love the chance to have CLA as a mentor for a week. Like me, he works in the digital world as needed, but loves to use the sweet sounds of analog as much as possible. What I learn with CLA in 2021 I will be able to share with my audio engineering students for another decade, so your giving me this opportunity is actually giving the opportunity to hundreds of bright young minds in my classes. I’m all about honesty, so I will fully attribute wisdom gained and given to MWTM and CLA.”
